Delphine Galou
The French contralto Delphine Galou (b.1977) read philosophy at the Sorbonne alongside her vocal studies; in 2004 she was selected as ‘Discovery of the Year’ by the French association for the Promotion of Young Artists, and shortly afterwards joined the young artist programme at the Opéra national du Rhin. Though her operatic repertoire encompasses Humperdinck’s Hänsel and Britten’s Lucretia and Hermia, she specialises in baroque repertoire, with key roles including Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina, the title-roles in his Giulio Cesare, [Rinaldo and Alessandro and Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso.
